School Holidays

You can view or download our holiday dates by clicking the link below:

School Holiday Dates 2021-22

Schools also close for teacher training days during term time.  These can change each year, and for the academic year 2021-22, there are five training days so we will also be closed on: 1.9.21, 10.12.21, 4.1.22, 6.6.22 and 21.7.22.  We also have an additional bank holiday for the Queen’s Jubilee which we are taking on 5.1.22 and will therefore be closed.

The new school year will be Monday 5th September.  For further information, visit School holiday and term dates – Durham County Council

School Holidays During Term Time

The Government has amended regulations for taking holidays in term time and these new regulations come into effect from September 2013.

Head teachers have the discretion to grant leave, but they should only do so in exceptional circumstances. If a head teacher grants a leave request, it will be for them to determine the length of time that the child can be away from school. This leave is unlikely, however, to be granted for the purposes of a family holiday.

Parents/Carers can be fined for taking their child on holiday during term time without consent from the school. Information about this can be found at: Holidays in Term Time

Holiday & Leave Of Absence Form

Please contact the school if you wish to discuss this with the Headteacher.
